Analysis of Christian Lacroix Collection -1



This is a Christian Lacroix collection which represents Spanish style. (Winter 1990-1991)






The traditional Spanish costume was widely known for elegance , flamboyant and colourful. It reflects the passionate Spanish culture. The decorations are always in gold and silver thread with jewels or pearls , rich embroideries as well as heavy girdles and collars. Capes, corsets, farthingale, which were bell-shaped all originated in Spain.

About the Christian Lacroix's collections, it represents the spanish culture. Most collections are pyramid shapes and layered. Using floral patterns as well as lace to show the femininity. Also, his designs are always with embroidery , gems , sequins and jewelleries. In his collections, it's always colourful and full of passion. Especially in A/W collectons, bright colours such as bright pinks and yellow still occurs.
